THere are several different schools of thought as to the Holly plant's meaning - many of which can be found in the song "The Holly and the Ivy". The meaning written on the backs of these ornaments is according to the Victorian Language of Flowers; "Defense and Domestic Happiness"
These ceramic bisque ornaments are hand-painted with watercolor, edged in gold paint, and finished with a matte varnish to seal and protect the delicate pigments.
On the back of each ornament is my full signature, and the name of the flower with its meaning. It comes with a hand-dyed crinkle chiffon ribbon.
