Peonies are stunningly voluptuous - luxuriously dripping with layer after layer of petals, growing fuller and fuller as they bloom. In Japan, they stand for "Bravery", and I think the combination of that meaning with their full-bodied form is a beautiful picture for each of us.
Too many of us have been made to feel that we must hide, we must shrink, we must close down until we fit a very narrow mold of 'the right body'.
