"Anxiety" is a watercolor painting on cold-press, acid-free watercolor paper, created as part of my Motherhood Collection.

Many new mothers experience intense bouts of anxiety, imagining horrible things happening to their baby, or feeling fearful that they don't know what to do, or that they'll mess something up.

This is communicated both through the grey-purple and chartreuse colors, but through the meanings of the flowers used.
Columbine flowers (in the eyes) - "Anxiety"
Sainfoin (behind the head) - "Agitation"
Rhododendron (shoulders) - "Danger, Beware"

This piece is a reminder to new mothers to practice self-care, and a reminder to others that she has much on her mind.
