"Motherly Love" and "Fatherly Love" were some of the very first of my Language of Flowers paintings, probably painted right after "Loss of Self". This painting is based off pictures of my holding my one week old daughter. She was so tiny, and so precious, and I wanted so much to be able to communicate the fullness of our hearts and arms.
