"Protection" is a watercolor painting on cold press acid-free watercolor paper, part of my Motherhood Collection.

The idea for "Protection" was hugely inspired by the meaning of these flowers. The little yellow flower cupped in the hands is a Cinquefoil, which means "Beloved Daughter". Holly plants stand for "Foresight", while Juniper and Bearded Crepis both mean "Protection".

This is a strong feeling for parents, the desire to create a barrier around their child, protecting them from all the evils of the outside world.
