Happy New Year!! I'm so excited for what 2018 has to offer, and I'm excited to share with you what I've got planned! 2017 was so full of big-life changes that my work got put on the back-burner. I'm now ready to dive deep into my art, and create some really beautiful collections this year! To keep my art focused, I've joined the Artist Residency in Motherhood. It's an open-source, self-directed residency that you do from the comfort of your own home.

As the residency's creator, Lenka, says, "An Artist Residency in Motherhood is the reframing of parenthood as a valuable site for creative practice, rather than an obstruction to be overcome. " So what does this mean? It means new art! I'm going to be putting a lot of my focus on my traditional paintings this year, instead of working to just keep my head above water with my freelance illustrations.

My first collection will be a series focused on Motherhood, and all the deep emotions that come with it. I'll be using the whimsical, ethereal feel of my Dreamer Collection, combined with the beautiful flowers from the wedding bouquets I'd been painting this year. I can't wait to show you!
